not to brag...

but John Mark has added "ball" (bah) and "bubble" (bubbo) to his repertoire of words. If you don't believe me, click here to watch the video! He also loves to play "catch" with anyone.

We had a very full weekend! John Mark got to spend the night with BB & Big Poppy on Friday night, and then we went to Jonas' birthday party on Saturday evening. John Mark had lots of fun playing with his friends, and he says that he hopes everyone can make it to his birthday party in a month!

uh-oh!

I completely forgot last time to let everyone know that John Mark says "uh-oh!" He even says it at the right times- like when he's dropping his sippy cup for the 15th time... or he threw his shoe down in the store (hey, at least now I sometimes get some warning!)... or just because he thinks saying it is fun!

He has also outgrown ALL of his shoes. Not that he liked wearing them anyway...

a wicked weekend

This weekend, Micah and I went to see th musical WICKED with our friends Chris & Jamie. I saw this musical 2 years ago with Jamie and Natalie in Dallas. When we found out that it was coming to Oklahoma City, well, we were more than a little excited!! The first time we saw Wicked, we sat on the very last row of the very highest balcony. Needless, to say, we didn't really SEE a whole lot of the play. But THIS time, we were on the 6th row. Our seats were amazing!!

Before the play we ate dinner at a Trattoria Il Centro in downtown. It was a neat restaurant, and the food was SO GOOD! It was a fabulous night, and a great celebration of my birthday!

whew...

man, have we ever had a busy but F-U-N week. It all began with my birthday last Tuesday. My cousin Jeremy, his wife Jaime, and their son Hunter all flew in for a visit. We went to lunch on Tuesday. Then Wednesday I went to visit a friend in the hospital. Mom, Nanny and Grandad were there. When I heard what fun things they had planned for the rest of the week, well... John Mark and I just had to tag along. We are never ones to turn down fun. So we drove to Edmond, packed our bags and rode back to Central with them. We all had supper that night, and John Mark got to play with his new cousin Hunter. And of course, Grandma had a great time holding her 2 great-grandsons. John Mark was in a great mood, and had tons of fun being pulled around in the laundry basket, and of course eating lots of food that he wasn't supposed to eat.

We loaded up Thursday morning and took a drive to Falls Creek. Jeremy and I wanted to check out the new tabernacle. Man, it is NICE... nothing like the old, sweaty tabernacle. I think that it was a great change for them to make, but it's too bad the kids that go now will never know what it is to SWEAT through a worship service...

Friday was a trip to Lake Texoma (Texas) for the annual Enoch family reunion. John Mark (and Micah!) met lots of new cousins. Unfortunately the only picture I got was this one of John Mark playing with his cousin, Jace. The rest of the pictures from that weekend are on mom's camera. It was a fun weekend spent playing with family and eating!!

Monday we went to the doctor for our 10 month check up. John Mark weighs 19-15 (25%) and is ALMOST 30" long (90%). I never remember how big his head is...

And then there was today! Our friends JJ, Jonas, Emily and Eric cane for a visit! We ate lunch at Ted's (yummy!) and then we went to Pelican Bay to play in the pool. The boys all seemed to love the water, and of course they thought they didn't need their mommies to hold onto them! We had lots of fun chasing them around and playing in the sun. Afterwards, my house was baby central. All the kiddos were tired and grumpy after the afternoon in the sun. I did manage to get this funny picture. Jonas is trying to steal John Mark's ring (John Mark learned a lesson today that I learned many times as a child... Dunn babies are much stronger than Rigdon babies!!) and Eric is just posing away!

Anyway, after this fun-filled week of adventures, I am reminded of how blessed I am. God has given me an amazing family, and beautiful friends that I am forever grateful for! I love each one of you!

growing up too fast...

John Mark is 10 months old. It doesn't even seem possible that 10 months have gone by. He is getting bigger, more fun, and causing more trouble with each passing day! He has 6 teeth, and he loves "talking." He still isn't saying anything for real, but he loves to repeat noises. He also has a "monster" voice that is adorable.

We also have taught him to raise his arms up when we say "WHEEEEE!" His friend Caroline does this when we say "hurray!" and I think he may have picked up on that too.

These days he is a waving fool, and has lots of fun waving to anyone (or no one)... he is also still madly in love with a good game of peek-a-boo. Now he just lays his head down on the floor and pops up laughing. It's really funny. He loves to eat (of course) and will eat pretty much anythingn we give to him- guacamole, grilled cheese, yogurt, cake...

As I mentioned before, our best friends Bryan & Natalie moved to Houston. Jamie and I made a scrapbook for Nat. During the week it took us to make it, Jamie came over every day. Her daughter Caroline and John Mark had way too much fun getting into EVERYTHING. Here's just a couple of the pictures I got of the 2 of them. Does that look like trouble or what?

goodbye sweet friends!

After 3 1/2 wonderful years, the day we have all been dreading has finally arrived. Our best friends Bryan and Natalie pulled out in a big ol' truck for Houston this morning. Bryan will be doing his residency for med school down there. It's hard to believe this day is actually here. I don't think it's really hit me yet. Goodbye besties, we will miss you all so very much!
