I'm so big!

John Mark is getting so big! I can't even believe that he will be 7 months old on Wednesday. He is getting into everything already, and he's not even officially crawling. He's just scooting. We like to call it the "inch worm." He lays out on his tummy, then he scrunches his legs up to his chest and then shoots out. The really funny part of it is that he can't aim at all. Here is some video of him inching.

We went to the doctor on Friday for his 7 month well baby exam. He's doing well. He'd lost a little weight, so now he weighs 17-12. He moved down to 50%. I was a little sad about that. But the doctor assured me that he was doing fine, it was just him becoming more active and needing to eat more baby food. He was 29 inches long, (95%) and I don't remember how big his head was, but it was 95% too.

Speaking of baby food, John Mark loves it all. He gobbles up his 2 jars at each meal. I really can't get it to his mouth fast enough! He's not too fond of plain green beans or peas, but mixed with sweet potatoes or something kind of sweet, he'll eat them like there's no tomorrow! His favorites so far are peaches, sweet potatoes and applesauce. Give him any of those and I'm pretty sure he'd keep eating all day.

Here is a funny video of John Mark from this evening. He was sitting in Micah's lap and he noticed the remote controls in the basket of blankets beside the couch. The video is of him crawling out of Micah's lap and into the basket to get the remotes. This picture is him at the end. If that's not an ornery look, then I don't know what is!

my model

If that's not a little model in the making, I don't know what is! :o) Find the angle, John Mark... work with the camera... It's hilarious to watch John Mark when anyone comes near him with a camera. He automatically looks at it and smiles. I don't know where in the world he would have learned how to smile for the camera...

I'm trying so hard to get video of him "talking." But the love for the camera results in him just looking at it and smiling really big. So I have really cute video of him smiling. I'll keep working on it because his talking is really great.

John Mark has had a little bit of a cold lately. I took him to the doctor on Monday to make sure that it was just a cough and nothing more. They did a nasal swab to test for RSV (negative, thankfully!) and drew some blood for a virus test. The doctor was hoping that would get him worked up so she could hear him cough (because, of course, he wouldn't cough at all when she was in the room), but he just sat there. Not a peep out of him when she stuck him with the needle OR stuck a q-tip up his nose. Sure, he screams like I'm killing him if I even come near him with the nose sucker (what's the real word for that?) or a kleenex... but he just smiles at the nurse when she sticks him with a needle. Show off.

"i do"

In all of my sentimentality of the last post, I forgot to post this picture of John Mark and one of his many girls. This is the precious Lily Beth Nease. This picture was taken in the front of the church, and mom and Mrs. Nease were having them practice saying "i do." (don't get jealous, Caroline...)

Lily is the beautiful daughter of John & Meggs. She is adorable and I got to hold her all through the service at church on Sunday. She's adorable!
