singin' songs

I spend a lot of time singing to John Mark. Whether he's taking a bath, rocking, getting his diaper changed or just playing on the floor, it seems I'm usually humming or singing something. A lot of times I like to sing whatever worship song is floating around in my head. Other times I will sing about what we're doing. The other day I remembered that my friend Lisa "re-wrote" Jesus Loves the Little Children for her son. I decided to do the same for John Mark, and this is what I came up with. Because John Mark is SO cool, we have to have 2 verses to encompass all our friends.

Jesus loves the little children
All the friends in John Mark's world
Caroline and Cassady
Logan, Ava, Will, Finley
Jesus loves the little friends in John Mark's world

Jesus loves the little children
All the friends in John Mark's world
Jonas, Eric and Jentry
Hunter, Lauren and Mady
Jesus loves the little friends in John Mark's world

What do you sing to YOUR babies?

addicted to swinging

John Mark has found his new favorite pastime. He love, love, LOVES the swings at the park. We discovered this at Eric's birthday party that we went to this past weekend. The party was at Redbud Park in Marlow, and we let the babies all play around for a while before we ate cake. John Mark couldn't get enough of the swings!

John Mark had a lot of fun getting to hang out and play with his buddies Jonas, Eric, Jentry, Lauren & Mady. We're looking forward to the next birthday party! Here's a few cute pics from the day.

new tooth!

The first top tooth has made an appearance! It's not either one of the middle teeth, it's one on the right. I don't remember what it's called. I can't wait to see what John Mark looks like with a mouthful of teeth.

He is getting into everything these days. We had to take the bumper off his crib because he was using it to climb. And believe me, if anyone will climb out of the bed and land on their head, it will be my kid. Jamie has given him the nickname "bruiser" because he always seems to have some bruise on his head from bumping into things. His most recent accident was a face plant into the tile at a friends house.

John Mark entertained himself for a solid 15 minutes the other night by playing in a plastic box. It was hilarious. He's such a funny kid!
