more florida pics

Here are the other pictures from Florida that I couldn't upload the other day. John Mark is also figuring out how to roll over. He hasn't made it over completely, but he hangs out on this side quite a bit. I figure that he'll make it over someday pretty soon.

He turned 3 months yesterday. It's so crazy that he was born 3 months ago. It seems like it has flown by. I never knew that being a mom would be so much fun!

florida, ear aches and more

What an exciting couple of weeks we have had in the Rigdon household!! First of all, John Mark has his Halloween costume. He is going to be a little cow. Do we have any plans that are Halloween-y? Nope... but I felt as though he needed a costume. And it was only $6. So he will probably just wear it around the house all day! :)

We also made a big trip to Jacksonville, FL for cousin Jeremy's wedding last week. John Mark had his first ride on an airplane. He did really well. My theory that if he cried it didn't matter because we'd never see the people again was kind of blown out of the water when the girl my cousin was marrying's brother sat on the row behind us...

Here are some pictures from the weekend. John Mark was super cute and everyone loved him. Micah didn't get to go with us, so I just went with my parents.

Aunt Judy loves taking pictures as much (or more!) than I do, so we had a photo shoot with John Mark in their front yard Saturday morning. If you look close enough in several of these pictures, you will see the MASSIVE amounts of drool rolling off John Mark's chin. It seems that the floodgates o' drool have opened and it is EVERYWHERE...

Well, blogger is being dumb, so I will have to put up those pictures later. John Mark has his first ear infection, so he's not a super happy baby right now. But we got some medicine and he's doing much better than he was a few days ago.

laugh!

John Marked laughed today- a real, true lough out loud laugh. It was probably the cutest thing I have EVER heard- and talk about melting your heart!! He did it the first time for my dad... then for Micah... and then for his aunt Emily. Click here for video of him laughing. Andhere's a really cute picture of him "talking" to the horse on his playmat.

gotta have friends

In other John Mark related news- he is getting so BIG! And he's just getting more fun by the day. He's really becoming interactive and is just the best baby. He's sleeping pretty well too. After I posted that he slept through the night, he decided to rebel and wake up every hour for 2 nights. He's back on his sleep 6 hours and wake up schedule- but I'll take that over every hour!!

I got a small "job" that I'm working at 2 days a week to make a little extra cashola. John Mark is staying with Micah's mom while I work until he is old enough to go to a mother's day out. Hopefully I can get him in somewhere in January.

Next week, John Mark and I are flying to Florida for his cousin Jeremy's wedding. Pretty exciting stuff. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post from that!

Sunday night several people from our small group hung around and we all ate pizza. Here's some pictures of John Mark and Caroline with them. We're so blessed by these people!

top 10 ways you know you're a mom

I've been doing some thinking and I've come up with my top 10 ways that you know you're a mom...

10. you can look under any piece of furniture in your house and find at least one pacifier

9. the words to "Jesus Loves Me"- "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" - "I'm a Little Teapot" - or any other "children's" songs are constantly stuck in your head

8. you know more classical music because of baby einstein than you ever knew from music class

7. the last "real" book you read consisted of 3 sentences and a bunch of pictures

6. you find yourself talking baby talk to people who aren't your child... or a baby...

5. you use your baby's lotion before you run out the door

4. you just don't care that there is spit up or a little poo on your shirt

3. you fall asleep each night to the hum of a baby monitor... or maybe that cricket chirping outside the window of the baby monitor

2. you have the super human ability to carry an already heavy baby in an even heavier car seat unbelievable distances- like from the car to the front of Target

1. you finally understand what your mom was talking about all those years when she said she'd love you no matter what

other firsts...

John Mark went to the nursery for the first time on Sunday. He did so good. I think he mostly slept... I even took him to evening nursery while we had small group. When I picked him up he was wearing new clothes... in true John Mark fashion he pooped out of his diaper all over his clothes, blanket and the poor girl holding him. I guess he just wanted to get them used to him!

Today I took him to childcare at the gym while Jamie and I worked out. He was sleeping soundly in a swing when I went to pick him up. And in fact, he's sleeping soundly in his swing right now. Man, he loves this thing!

woo-hoo!!!!

John Mark slept through the night last night! We put him down around 8:30 and he didn't wake up until 4:30. And he just now woke up from that. This is the best news ever... now let's just hope this sticks!
