please make way for the...

DRAGON!!!

I know you all have been anxiously awaiting the unveiling! We've had a big couple of days getting pumpkins, playing with friends and of course eating lots and lots of candy! I'll post the rest of the pictures later. Tonight I'm too tired!

10.22.2007

man, it's been a while

Where does the time go? There is no possible way that almost 1 month could have passed between my last post and today... Time sure flies when you spend your days chasing a 15 month old and a bunch of pre-k's!! So, to all my faithful readers (Mrs. Nease, Joan, Natalie, and all the rest of you I don't know about) I sincerely apologize for my blog slacking. I will attempt to update you all on our life the past month and not bore you to tears in the process.

As you can see, John Mark is getting way too big. He has graduated to running and tries to repeat every word that we say. His more recent conquerings in the word department are "belly button" (but if you heard it, you'd have no clue what he was saying... we didn't either for the longest time... the never ending digging under his shirt and ours finally gave it away), "night night" (both a word for going to bed, and his new blanket love), "happy", and he has covered both of his grandpas with "poppy" & "poppa". As you can imagine, his grandmas are just a tiny bit jealous. My mother is, of course, trying furiously to get him to call her anything. So far he just looks at her and gives her his ornery little grin, which I think she'll take just the same.

Now, as for what we've been up to since my last update. We went to Central High the first weekend of October and had a fabulous birthday party for our girl Jentry. She is way too cute and throws a great birthday party. This is a picture of John Mark with all of his buddies from the big CH.

That same weekend John Mark went to his very first Central High football game. Although, I think he was much more interested in eating Cheese Puffs from Eric than the football game. Let's just say that after hurricane John Mark blew threw, there wasn't a cheese puff in sight.

We also went to a Edmond Memorial freshmen game last Monday to cheer on one of the boys in our small group that we teach. John Mark had a fabulous time because he- a, got to flirt with the cheerleaders... b, got to eat a ring pop... c, got a cool memorial football from my friend Lesley... I say MY friend because for some reason John Mark has decided that Lesley is not his friend any more. Although with all the recent bribery from her, she is moving up on his list.

For example, last Wednesday it was our friends Brian & Dyanna's last Wednesday with us in the student ministry (yes, another one of our friends is leaving Oklahoma) so we had cake. By the time I had picked up John Mark from the nursery, there was no cake left. He was none too happy about that, so Lesley, in another attempt to make him love her, just gave him the spatula. This was the result.

All in all, it has been a great month. Life is blowing by at an ever increasing speed, and we're just trying to hang on and enjoy the ride. John Mark is the most precious gift we've ever been entrusted with, and every minute is a fabulous new surprise.
