34 Weeks & CH Baby Shower

Well, if you were wondering what the belly is doing these days, here you go. I had my mom take this picture last week before my shower in her backyard. I'm growing pretty much everyday, which I am taking as a good sign that my baby boy is growing in there too. I've started the every other week appointments, and in July I will go every week until he gets here. I'm excited and nervous and scared all in one. I want him to get here, because I SO want to know what he looks like and to know his personality... but at the same time I am a little nervous about my abilities to be a mother. I know God will give me exactly what I need when I need it, but sometimes I wish I could see that tangibly.

Other than being HOT all the time, I'm feeling really well. I still sleep through the night without getting up to use the bathroom, which I hear is a HUGE blessing... Sleeping is getting more uncomfortable, but I've found that just surrounding myself with pillows makes it a little easier! I'm still stretchmark free and don't have any varicose veins. I'm hoping this trend sticks for a few more weeks!! I slather on the lotion every morning... I've had some pretty intense heartburn too and that hasn't been fun. But really, I feel very blessed to have had such an easy pregnancy this entire time. Let's just hope it stays this way and is a sign for my delivery as well!

We also had a shower last Monday night at some friends in Central High. It was so much fun. I was really overwhelmed by the love that was shown to me. John Mark got a TON of good stuff- he's going to be the most stylish kid in town, that's for sure! Not to mention that it was a lot of fun seeing old friends. One of my favorite things was seeing all the girls I grew up with who are pregnant now too! Here's a group of pictures from this shower:

baby shower #2

This past weekend we had our second baby shower. This one was held at our friend John & Kristi Harrington's home. Kristi, Jamie, Natalie and Kelly did an AWESOME job putting the shower together for me. I loved every second of it. There was lots of good food, fun times seeing old friends and we got so much good stuff. I was really overwhelmed by all the gifts that people blessed us with. I would post some pictures of me opening the gifts, but I am making dumb faces in them all... and since this is my blog, I will post the pictures that I want to! :) These are some of the pictures of my sweet friends and family.

One of the most special parts of the day was at the end, when the ladies that were there prayed over John Mark and me. I will cherish that for the rest of my life. I am so thankful that God has put me in such a wonderful place, with family and friends who love me and are praying for me.

Quite possibly the best part of the day was when Kristi's son, Braden, told me that "sometimes, it takes a year or two for your tummy to go back to normal after you have a baby." Priceless!
